Meet Louise & Luna, the protagonists of this BE A MUM story – we enjoyed a celebration of shared practices with her blossoming baby girl, during a fun afternoon at Louises’s Yoga studio.

We have been very curious about Louise’s mindful practice since last year when we first met her for a collaboration at a private Yoga event hosted by BEA studio in Milan. Finally – almost a year later, we took the opportunity to get to know a bit more about her and the balance between mindful habits, family life, and her work.

This native Swedish yogi and wellness entrepreneur is a certified Pranayama, meditation, and Yin Yoga teacher with over 12 years of experience all over the world. She elevated her passion for the practice when she decided to create Glow-retreats with friend and co-organizer Valentina Dolci – their team works brilliantly because of its simplicity: Lou Lou organises the Yoga & Meditation activities – Valentina is in charge of the Health & Food coaching side of things.

At the core of her practice, there is the belief that Yoga is not only a great physical exercise but a necessary bridge between body and mind, as she turns to practice to find her inner peace, detox, and embrace her creative flow.

What’s your secret to maintaining a calm approach to all things in life/motherhood in an urban environment such as Milan?

Oh, it’s all about enjoying the small things, spending time with loved ones, and not sweating the small stuff. Life’s too short to take everything seriously. Plus, I make sure to have fun, do what I love, eat well, and connect with nature whenever possible.

Do you make Luna participate in your practice? Does she like Yoga?

Absolutely! Luna’s been doing yoga with me since my pregnancy. She loves rolling out her mat either next to mine and copying my moves or we do it together, kind of a mesh but works. It’s a fantastic way for her to develop a connection with her body whilst learning how to check in on her breathing.

What do you enjoy the most – teaching Yoga at the studio or doing your retreats?

Both – connecting with students, and creating a journey for them in the world of Yoga, is my favourite part. Retreats are perhaps a tad more special for me; there I have the advantage of witnessing up close what powers Yoga has. I love seeing our guests, regardless of what level they are at, forming a relationship, a deeper connection – with themselves through Yoga while observing their breathing and their awareness. The vibe is rarely the same when they all leave, it’s a lot more energy and smiles for sure.

Tell us more about Glow-retreats.

My partner Valentina and I founded Glow Retreats seven years ago. We focus on overall well-being, with nutritious meals by Valentina and daily yoga and meditation sessions led by me. We make sure our guests leave feeling relaxed and recharged after spending quality time in nature. It was something we saw a great desire for, especially in Milan, but we do have guests coming from all over the place.

A quote or phrase that most represents you.

I resonate very much with Thich Nhat Hanh’s quote: “The real miracle is not walking on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day is a miracle, from a blue sky to a child’s curious eyes.”

Are you a print or solid colour type of person?

I have to admit I usually stick to natural colours in daily wear. A bit of splashed here and there but mostly neutral. But in my yoga gear, I do love taking a leap and trying prints and other vibrant colours. Jumpsuits are my absolute favourite!

Which style from our activewear selection do you prefer for your yoga practice?

All, ha! Or perhaps my favourite would be the Flair Jumpsuit! It’s SO comfy, allowing me to move freely without any restrictions. In yoga, it’s important that the clothes never restrict you or pull on you and the BEA line is perfect for just that. It should really feel like a second skin AND of course BEA´s prints are so uplifting, which makes the yoga session even more fun! Yoga is all about having fun and relaxing, sounds controversial but it’s not, and that is why BEA to me is perfect for my yoga sessions.
